You can download a free trial-copy (version 2.4) of TrapEd.

The downloaded zip-file contains the TrapEd-executable and example-files in the following structure:

traped

    traped.exe -- TrapEd
      templatedoc.kit -- Example of an extension
    examples
       example.tcl -- Example Code for Api
       example.attr -- Example attr-file to play around with

Notice:
The documentation is not included in the download anymore. For documentation simply go to this website.

Extract the zip-file to your favourite directory (e.g. C:\programs) and if you like you can create a shortcut from traped.exe and doc\index.html to the start-menu.

Double-click on the example attr-file example\example.attr. You are asked for the application with which this file should be opened. Choose traped.exe and click always open this extension with this application.

This free trial-copy provides only a subset of TrapEd's functionality, e.g:

• a maximum of three projects will be displayed in the project-tree
• you can edit all project-, template-, record- or file-attributes, but you cannot save your changes into a valid attr-file.
• the database-password which is most likely stored encrypted in the attr-file will not be displayed decrypted (see Properties).
• the Api is not available.

If you want the full functionality, you have make a gift to get a license.

You can also get a free 30-days-license with full functionality if you find an unknown bug (see Known bugs in TrapEd.
Simply email the text from the "Bug-alarm"-Dialog to the email listed below with some description on how you produced this bug along with your operation-system information and you will get as a reward a license.
The 30-days-license is (as the name might tell) restricted to be used for 30 days only, after this period the license expires.
