You can download a free trial-copy (version 2.4) of TrapEd.
The downloaded zip-file contains the TrapEd-executable and example-files in the following structure:
traped.exe -- TrapEd
templatedoc.kit -- Example of an extension
example.tcl -- Example Code for Api
example.attr -- Example attr-file to play around with
The documentation is not included in the download anymore. For documentation simply go
to this website.
Extract the zip-file to your favourite directory (e.g.
C:\programs) and if you like you can create a
doc\index.html to the start-menu.
Double-click on the example attr-file
example\example.attr. You are asked for the application with which this file should be opened. Choose
traped.exe and click
always open this extension with this application.
This free trial-copy provides only a subset of TrapEd's functionality, e.g:
- a maximum of three projects will be displayed in the project-tree
- you can edit all project-, template-, record- or file-attributes, but you cannot save your changes into a valid attr-file.
- the database-password which is most likely stored encrypted in the attr-file will not be displayed decrypted (see Properties).
- the Api is not available.
